Being served quickly with a smile was the highlight. Ordered what I was told was the best milkshake in Sabden, very underwhelming. Base of the pie had a distinct hint of washing up liquid, pie was microwaved but somehow the star of the show. Accompanied with off brand supermarket crinkle cut chips and mushy peas out of a tin. Wish we’d chose somewhere else, more of a truck stop than a nice cafe. Two stars is generous.
Downgraded to one star due to the shear nonchalance of staff when explaining the issues at the end.
I followed the signs from the main road on my quest to find a bacon buttie in a town I wasn’t familiar with. The signs took me to this cafe. Upon entering I was greeted with a smile and a clean cafe and ordered a bacon buttie and a coffee. At £7.00 for both I thought that was very reasonable and sat down at one of the clean well presented tables and ate my food at around 9.30 on a Wednesday morning.
If you’re driving through Sabden and looking for some food, I’d recommend it
Super good food 1st class. Portions are plentiful chips are a must
Fantastic staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble
Dog friendly which is a bonus
Cannot fault this place. Service is 100%
Definitely Definitely worth a visit
A warm welcome in this village cafe – not your city centre slick place, but basic wholesome fare at a reasonable price. The premises are loosely themed around the local Pendle Witches legends but this is not intrusive. They are also extremely pet friendly, with dog snacks and water available while you’re eating. This is an excellent place to start a walk around the local countryside (but don’t aim to finish here as it closes early at 2pm). The menu is varied; and I’d like to say basic except there’s an additional crepe menu with slightly more continental. There’s also a good take away menu which supplies the village workforce. This was a good find and certainly somewhere to return: I will!!
The staff are always busy conjuring up tasty food in this super little cafe. Lots of nods to the witchy history of Pendle and friendly staff. Dogs are welcome and excellent walks are on the doorstep.
