Go Dinosaur Hunting This August at Clitheroe Castle Museum

Looking for a fun and affordable family activity during the summer holidays? This August, Clitheroe Castle Museum is inviting young explorers to take part in the exciting Dinoroar Children’s Competition Hunt.

Running daily from 1st to 31st August 2026, the dinosaur-themed adventure offers children the chance to hunt for hidden dinosaurs around the museum, complete a fun activity and enter a competition to win a fantastic dinosaur-themed goody bag. It’s the perfect way to keep little ones entertained while discovering one of the Ribble Valley’s most popular family attractions.

A Roarsome Summer Adventure

Children will love searching the museum for hidden dinosaur clues before entering the free competition for a chance to win a prize packed with souvenirs from the museum shop.

The dinosaur hunt is included with museum admission, making it a great value day out for families. Even better, all children receive free entry to Clitheroe Castle Museum, while adults pay the standard museum admission.

Get Creative with Dinosaur Crafts

The dinosaur fun doesn’t stop with the competition.

Families can also enjoy Dino-tastic Crafts, where children can build and decorate their own wooden dinosaur to take home. With several dinosaur designs to choose from, it’s the perfect keepsake from a day at the castle.

Craft sessions cost £3 per dinosaur, and museum admission isn’t required if you’re only taking part in the crafts. Free dinosaur activity sheets and a cosy reading corner are also available throughout August.
