I was upset when I and my girlfriend arrived and was seated at table that was lower than our knees and we was there for lunch…when we was seated we was rushed to order food which was unpleasant to say the least, we both ordered a latte however my girlfriend had to substitute the milk for oat milk as she is lactose intolerant…it was a disgrace to see the size difference between my latte and hers purely because of the type of milk…once we ordered food we both got a double smash burger as we did not want to bend over to eat our food and when that arrived both burgers were dry and the only thing home made looked to be carrots that had been grated onto the salad…definitely wouldn’t recommend as the price came to just under £50!!!overall the atmosphere seems lovely and the building was amazing probably wouldn’t recommend eating here if your thinking about it.
Love this gem of a place . Doesn’t matter if you are going for a quick tea/coffee, light bite or a meal – with excellent service & the nicest staff ever, & where the food is always fabulous, fresh & utterly delicious this is the place to go.
Sitting by the river is so calming & adds to the delightful ambience when visiting . As does a wander round the garden shop where there are always new & things waiting to tempt visitors with some real bargains too. The cafe isn’t the cheapest place to go but it is very competitively priced & everything I have ever eaten / drunk there has been fresh & top quality & yet again I feel I should mention the excellent staff & service here since they really do make all the difference. Hats off to them all 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This really is my favourite place to catch up with friends & family – especially when they even cater for fur babies too – my daughter’s dog Stellar loves the doggy ice-cream .
What a gem this place is! The garden centre is well stocked and well looked after, but the cafe is on another level!!! They offer really good cafe and good selection, the service is friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the atmosphere is a wow! You can sit on a table directly overlooking the beautiful river and breathtaking woodland landscapes on the other side. There is alot of greenery and flower decorations between the different sitting areas. Variety of sitting choices. Very relaxed, informal, pretty, homely and friendly vibe. Although it was quite busy, drinks arrived almost immediately and food followed shorty after, hot and tasty. Loved every minute there, will be back soon!
2nd time I’ve been. 1st time I sat outside and was told to move that table was reserved. No sign on it I said. No, she forgot to put it on. We left. I said I’m not going again.
I went 8 years later, yesterday! I wanted to sit at the window for the view. Was told they close in an hour and are just about to section that area off so no!
I was ready to leave, but my husband wanted a coffee. I didn’t have anything. Waitress said Is that all you’re having? To my husband.
He got his coffee. Withing minutes the strongest stench of bleed began to spread everywhere and I couldnt even see anyone mopping. Vile attitude of staff. I will not go again.
A very lovely setting, but if you have special dietary requirements then just don’t go. I paid £14.50 for a plain salad with a bit of beetroot and a bit of walnut as this was all they could come up with for a vegan diet. Extortionate pricing ! Then I ordered a coffee that didn’t come, but was on the bill. I ordered it black as non dairy milk is 50p extra.
