Ribchester Art Club Annual Exhibition Returns This August Bank Holiday

Art lovers looking for something to do in the Ribble Valley this August Bank Holiday can enjoy more than 200 original artworks when Ribchester Art Club holds its annual exhibition on Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August 2026.

Taking place at St Peter and St Paul’s Parish Centre on Stydd Lane in Ribchester, the popular exhibition will bring together work from 35 amateur artists from across the Ribble Valley, with a wide variety of styles and mediums on display.

More than 200 artworks on display

Visitors will have the chance to browse over 200 pieces of artwork, making the exhibition a great opportunity to see the creativity and artistic talent found across the local area.

Many of the works will also be available to purchase, so anyone looking for an original piece of art for their home – or perhaps a unique gift – may find something that catches their eye.

Ribchester Art Club has been established for more than 30 years and brings together local people with an interest in creating and learning about art. Members work across a broad range of disciplines, including oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, pen and ink, collage, textiles and other techniques.

The club usually meets twice a month at the Parish Centre, with its programme combining informal sessions where members work on their own projects with demonstrations, workshops and opportunities to try different artistic techniques.

Art, homemade refreshments and a day out in Ribchester

As well as browsing the artwork, visitors can enjoy a selection of homemade refreshments during the exhibition.

With free admission, the exhibition could also make a lovely addition to an August Bank Holiday visit to Ribchester. After looking around the exhibition, visitors can make a day of it by exploring the historic village and enjoying some of the surrounding Ribble Valley countryside.
